Global Sourcing Specialist (R&D)

    We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join our Innovation team to assist with product development projects that will create impactful solutions for our customers. The primary focus of this position will be on forming new domestic and international manufacturing partnerships. Candidates for this position should have experience identifying, vetting, and building relationships with manufacturing partners across a variety of cultures and international locations. International travel will be required.

    • At least 5 years of experience with domestic and international sourcing and manufacturing
    • Familiar with best practices for sourcing and negotiation
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Able to multitask, focusing on multiple projects at once
    • Able to understand and interpret product part prints and drawings
    • Awareness and consideration of regional differences in cultural norms
    • Willing to participate in occasional off-hour supplier conference calls due to time zone differences
    • Familiar with sourcing manufacturing capacity for a variety of materials including but not limited to glass, plastics, metal, ceramics, and wood.
    • Knowledge of importing: common practices, processes, customs, tariffs, etc.
    • Complete adherence to all confidentiality agreements and utmost respect for Toddy, LLC’s intellectual property and trade secrets
    • Maintain a positive attitude, put people before problems and value team victories over personal victories
    • Strong computer skills - able to learn new software and technologies that enable effective project communication and efficient use of time (examples: Basecamp, Google Suite, Gantt charts, MS Excel, flowcharting tools)
    • Able to use the Internet to research challenging issues and find solutions
    • Follow project plans and meet deadlines
    • Learn quickly from failures and apply knowledge to future tasks and projects
    • Build effective relationships and collaborate with peers, managers and co-workers across all departments
    • Openly communicates, provides timely feedback and shares ideas
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent Toddy, LLC positively to customers, competitors, suppliers, colleagues, and team members
    • Understand the importance of following workplace safety and food safety protocols and best practices

    Additional Skills/Experience That May Be Beneficial

    • Have existing relationships with companies that produce a wide variety of common parts/materials
    • Have understanding of commonly used manufacturing machinery and processes
    • Multilingual
    • Food safety standards and testing processes

    Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
